Windows 2003
Hi Jay- I "loaned" you that server a while ago. I was wondering if it was any help in fixing steamcast for Windows 2003. I know you didn't have much time, so I don't know if you got to it at all. I'd sure like to have a server that would run on Windows 2003 server. OOPS! . Wrong Forum sorr...

The problem with just running a directory (as I had in the past) was that the owner of said directory is responsible for paying royalties. I'm curious, how does shoutcast get away with that?. We see some changes in the bittorrent arena with the MPAA lawsuits. I am not sure what percentage of shoutc...

There really isn't any way to really protect content from download, except to use one of the professional options (WMP, Real etc.). As far as a password system, I just place the (.m3u) playlist files in a .htaccess protected directory. That way you can't get the playlist file, unless you have the pa...

Well, here's a clue to the problem. This has been up 24 hours and no crash. I redirected the standard output of steamcast to a file, mainly by accident. No explosions. It looks like logging to the desktop is what is causing the problem for some reason. Maybe something with rdp is something that it d...

Nope, it's not getting hammered. When it crashes next time, I'll try your suggestion. I found out something interesting. Running 64 slots uses less monthly throughput than running 40. If you think about it, you'd know why. Maybe I could get you access to a 2003 box, if you are interested in messing ...

I get normal operation until steamcast dies with this error. It seems to happen at random, anywhere between an hour and 8. ---c--- [date]<69.64.36.158> Request:/admin.cgi <UA: Mozilla/4.0<compatible; Shoutcast nsv Source v1.0.0/posix>> [date]<Status>Nodes:20 Unique:20 Sources:1 ---c--- Pfft!..... :-...

The shoutcast directory exploded, so I figured what the heck, I'd give it a try. Basically, I just switched the stuff from sc_serv.ini to steamcast.conf and bingo!, it seems to be really good. I'm using sc_nsv to feed it and it doesn't seem to be any different than shoutcast. It only took me about 5...
